New Business Courses
The following new courses are available in the 2023-24 academic year:
BUS 222: Professionalism and Responsible Impact
The Alberta School of Business is launching a new series of BUS courses that are a continuation from BUS 101/201, and now include BUS 222, 303, and at a later date, 404. This series of courses focuses on developing the hard and soft skills that are important for developing as a person and professional, which, along with the knowledge and skills developed in your previous courses, will be applied to a real-life case-based project. BUS 222 focuses on professionalism, teaching you how to interact with people and communities, and how to represent yourself and your organization. This course will equip you with the essential hard and soft skills needed to communicate effectively in a business environment, deliver compelling presentations, use computer programs relevant to the workplace, and present yourself as a stand-out job candidate. Additionally, this course will delve into critical topics such as responsible decision-making; equity, diversity, and inclusivity (EDI) in teams and organizations; and Indigenous business.
The course will have a hybrid lecture delivery model with come required in-person elements, and an in-person seminar.
BUS 303: Application of Business Concepts
The Alberta School of Business is launching a new series of BUS courses that are a continuation from BUS 101/201, and now include BUS 222, 303, and at a later date, 404. This series of courses focuses on developing the hard and soft skills that are important for developing as a person and professional, which, along with the knowledge and skills developed in your previous courses, will be applied to a real-life case-based project. In BUS 303, you will continue to progress in your development of professional, communication, interpersonal, and team-building competencies. You will explore how your skills and knowledge can be applied to tackle broader societal issues, and how organizations can play a role in solving complex challenges on a local, national, and global scale.
The course will have a hybrid lecture delivery model with some required in-person elements, and an in-person seminar.
