Congratulations to VCD grad student Helma Zarrin

VCD grad student Helma Zarrin has received the "Audience Pick" cash award for their entry in the Collaborative College Community Initiative International Week 2024 Poster Competition. Helma entered her (DES 600) research poster, entitled Refugees and Migrants: Cultural Mosaic of Their New Homes, Bringing Diversity, and Enriching Society, which uses tiles displaying culturally specific patterns from different countries to symbolize how individuals contribute "a unique narrative to the collective mosaic of society." (Zarrin, 2023) Congratulations, Helma, on receiving this recognition for your timely and poignant work!
