About the Project
The Alberta Centre for Sustainable Rural Communities (ACSRC), with support from the Food Sustainability Endowment, is presenting a 2-year Public Lecture and Film Screening series focused on issues directly relating to food sustainability, especially as they relate to broader issues relevant to rural sustainability.
This project is made possible through a grant from the Sustainable Food Endowment.

February 11, 2025
Join the ACSRC, Camrose County and the Food Artisans of Camrose County for Film & Food: An evening connecting the farm to the plate.
This evening invites guests to enjoy sample fare from the Food Artisans of Camrose County while viewing the 2018 documentary "Before the Plate". After the film, a Q&A panel of distinguished guests, will share and respond to themes from the film and how they are present in our local community. Guests will be invited to ask questions of the panel.
As part of this event, the Camrose Art Society has curated "Art To Table" an art show exhibiting artists' interpretation of food and sustainability in our local community. Guests are invited to check out "Art to Table" in the Spotlight Bistro before the main event.
This event is free to attend though does require you register in advance.

Previous Events

On October 28, 2024, community members gathered for "Connecting to Land Through Food: A Community Conversation". The evening was one of community building, knowledge sharing, and storytelling. The Food Artisans of Camrose County curated a wonderful selection of local food that was enjoyed alongside panel guests. Panel guests included Alex Pulwicki (Young Agrarians), and Andrea and Denis Forstbauer (Grey Arrow Farms). Discussion centered around ways to build a strong and active community of new farmers in the prairies.
