We're here to help!

To help us reply to you as quickly as possible, please be sure to:

  • contact us using your ualberta.ca email account (and only that account) once it has been assigned to you,
  • provide your full name as it appears on your passport,
  • state your UAlberta student ID number once it has been assigned to you,
  • identify yourself as an incoming exchange student applicant (before you are accepted for the exchange) or as an incoming exchange student (after you are accepted for the exchange) and ...
  • mention the name of your home institution

Who to contact:

  • Need Help Now? For emergencies while you are on the UAlberta campus, find out who to contact (it will depend on the nature of the emergency).
  • Course Registration: Contact a student advisor in the faculty or department that is home to the course(s) in question.
  • Immigration (Travel, Study Permits, Visas, etc.): Please connect with one of our International Student & Visitor Services (ISVS) advisors.
  • Housing: Send your inquiry to housing@ualberta.ca
  • UAHIP and Health Insurance: Send your inquiry to uahip@ualberta.ca
  • Setting up a Canadian Bank Account: Please connect with one of our International Student & Visitor Services (ISVS) advisors.
  • All other matters: Send your inquiry to goabroad@ualberta.ca

Please Note:

If you need help, it is NOT a good idea to contact multiple people with the same request or question at the same time, either through multiple emails sent at the same time or through one email sent to multiple people. You may think this is a good strategy but it will not lead to a faster response; the opposite may actually happen along with the very real chance that you'll get different or slightly different responses which will likely create further confusion or uncertainty for you. Please only contact one person or team and give them sufficient time to reply before sending follow-up emails to them or contacting other people.

If you are unsure who to contact, it would always be best to send your inquiry to goabroad@ualberta.ca
