Through grants funded by Alberta Education, the Indigenous Language Teacher Development Projects of the Faculty of Education focuses on developing new and additional pathways for Indigenous language speakers to bridge into a University of Alberta Bachelor of Education program.
Currently, there are three pathways within these projects:
- Indigenous Language Education (in collaboration with CILLDI)
- Transitioning from the Community Linguist Certificate to Teacher Education (CLC)
- Indigenous Language Assessment and Secondary Education Bridging Program
