Tuition and Fees

Domestic Tuition

Tuition for domestic students (Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents) is $1498.00 per course. Tuition is assessed each semester, by course.

Note: Tuition for MES domestic students is set at $1749.66 per course. However, the Faculty of Education will provide a bursary in the amount of $251.66 per course. The bursary will be applied prior to the fee payment deadline. All tuition fees and bursary amounts are subject to change.


International Tuition

Tuition for international students is higher than for Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents - $2015.52 per course (subject to change). Fees & Other Costs

  • Non-instructional fees are assessed by the university
    Note: students can opt out of the Students' Union Health and Dental Plans.
  • Texts (these costs are not prohibitive as most texts are available in digital format, are available to borrow from the University of Alberta library system, and are used for more than one course)
  • Two GPS-approved electives (Contact the MES Graduate Administrator for assistance in selecting your electives and initiating the approval process or to determine whether you can obtain transfer credit for previously completed courses.)

Scholarships

Because the MES is a part-time, course-based program, students do not qualify for University of Alberta scholarships.
