Undergraduate Support
Peer tutoring is a collaborative process that helps undergraduate students develop their writing skills. Our peer tutors work with you to identify areas for improvement in your writing and provide you with strategies to develop and revise your work.
Book an Appointment
You can easily book a 30-minute appointment with a peer tutor through our user-friendly platform, WCONLINE. To accommodate your preferences and needs, you have the option to request an in-person or online appointment. You can book up to two weeks in advance.
Drop-in Policy
If you need assistance urgently, you can book a peer tutoring appointment up to 15 minutes before the appointment slot. Check the schedule on WCONLINE for availability.
Instructions
To make the most of your appointment, please bring a specific assignment or writing concern to work on with your tutor. To ensure that as many students as possible can access our services, we ask that you book no more than two tutoring appointments per week. If you require additional support, please email write@ualberta.ca. You can book up to two weeks in advance.
Please Note: Peer tutors cannot provide editing or proofreading services. Peer tutors do not have disciplinary expertise in specific subjects but can help with writing-related issues.
We look forward to working with you to develop your writing skills and achieve your academic goals!
Become a Peer Tutor
If you are interested in becoming a peer tutor at Writing Services, you can take WRS 301/603. Students who take the course are eligible to apply to become one of our peer tutors. The course is typically offered in the fall. We usually run intake in late fall.
