"Director Sandra M. Nichols puts together a well-orchestrated ensemble that forces the audience to sit and think about where they are in life and how similar it is to where everyone else is." -Bar Lavy, Daze Magazine, Four Stars

Middletown is a quirky, poetic story set in "a small town, like any other small town, located in the middle of the middle." A handyman meets a pregnant woman, and an unlikely friendship forms through a kinship of spirit. Through the minutiae of everyday experiences, Middletown explores our longing for love, warmth and contact with others.

Ring Ring Ring... What will happen if you answer that phone?

An incessantly ringing cell phone in a quiet café, provokes Jean, an introverted woman at the next table, to answer it. She is pulled into the orbit of a dead man - with a lot of loose ends. Her odyssey forces Jean to confront her assumptions about morality, redemption and the need to connect in a technologically obsessed world.

MFA Directing candidate, Amy DeFelice, brings to life the work of inventive contemporary playwright, Sarah Ruhl, with the Alberta premiere of Dead Man's Cell Phone. You only have three chances to catch this transcendent production featuring an exciting collective of artists from across Canada. Secure your spot today by signing up in front of the Department of Drama Office (FAB 3-146).
