Remembering the victims of Flight PS752

On January 8, 2020, 10 members of the University of Alberta community and three members of their families were among the 176 people killed in the downing of Ukraine International Airlines Flight PS752. We honour those who lost their lives, those whose lives they touched and the inspiring legacy they leave behind.

Visit the PS752 Memorial

A place for quiet reflection in memory of the friends, colleagues and family members lost in the downing of Flight PS752 was unveiled during a community event on May 3, 2022. The memorial features a bench, plaque and weeping spruce tree that represents a humble continuous sadness and will decorate the reflection space no matter the season.

All are welcome to visit the memorial located in Rutherford Quad on North Campus.

Memorial Fund

The university established the Mojgan Daneshmand, Pedram Mousavi & Victims Of Flight PS752 Memorial Fund to enable future graduate students to fulfill their aspirations and uphold the legacy of the individuals honoured by this memorial fund.
