Resources for Academic Visitors

University of Alberta Library

Library privileges vary based on the type of Academic Visitor. 

All Visitors may access licensed resources (databases, e-journals, e-books) while on campus, using a Guest Computing ID/Password provided by your host department.

All Visitors may borrow library materials. Certain types of Visitors qualify for term loans and inter library loan service.

Please inquire with your host department or The Library for information specific to your situation.

Campus & Community Recreation

The University provides a variety facilities and sports and recreation activities for community members. Visitors can opt-in to classes and memberships for a fee. 

Getting Around

If you require the use ETS Public Transit (LRT and/or bus), you may purchase tickets, passes or pay per ride.
Academic visitors cannot use their ONEcards to ride the LRT at no charge between South Campus and Royal Alexandra Hospital stations.
Academic Visitors also cannot obtain a U-Pass. The U-Pass is non-transferable.
