Total Joint Arthroplasty
The Total Joint Arthroplasty (TJA) group undertakes clinical and health services research to improve the care and outcomes of patients with arthritis including those who have had total joint arthroplasty (replacement). TJA is a surgical procedure in which a damaged joint is removed and replaced with a device called a prosthesis.
How do we improve patient care and outcomes?
- Identifying factors that affect recovery from surgery
- Evaluating new interventions, both surgical and non-surgical
- Examining different models of patient care to improve patient access and care delivery
- Educating patients and their families, clinicians, researchers and decision-makers in our research planning and evaluation
Primary Areas of Interest
