Have you considered a career in environmental health? In this webinar, Jade Yehia (Island Health) and Melissa Gorman (Health Canada) share their knowledge and experience, shedding some light on practical ways to get involved in this exciting and growing field. Jade Yehia is a Healthy Built Environment Consultant in British Columbia, providing a health lens to land use planning, with special attention to air quality, sustainable land use, and healthy community development. Melissa Gorman is a regional Impact Assessment Specialist, participating in the federal review of major natural resource and large-scale infrastructure projects in Alberta, Yukon and Northwest Territories, and has conducted ecological risk assessments of petroleum substances. After the webinar, you will gain insight on ongoing research, policy, and practice initiatives, as well as emerging opportunities for public health professionals, so you can make your own mark with a career promoting environmental health!
This webinar builds on Jennifer Ann Brown's PhD thesis work, for which Melissa and Jade contributed substantial expertise in partnership with a broader research team in the Policy, Location and Access in Community Environments [PLACE] Research Lab.
