Minimum Admission Requirements
- Undergraduate degree with a grade-point average of 3.0 (B) in the last two years of undergraduate (or graduate) work.
- If applicable, proficiency in English. English language proficiency requirements for entry to graduate programs in the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry may be higher than for entry to graduate programs in other Faculties. Your application package needs to include:
- A current curriculum vitae.
- All original transcripts.
- A statement/letter of intent.
- Three letters of reference. References must be within 5 years.
- Letter from prospective supervisor - includes commitment statement (agreed to take on said student); letter should also state ability to provide stipend support (amount, length of time), and a comment about whether differential fees will be supported and by whom, with grants listed.
- If applicable, a copy of test results for English Language Proficiency
Only application that have secured a supervisor will be processed. Once you have secured a supervisor and completed your application contact the Program Administrator at psychiat@ualberta.ca.
Application Deadlines
- International Students (Including Study Permits):
- Must provide all required admission documents at least four months prior to the start of the term they are applying for (Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall) in order to allow sufficient time for processing your application and obtaining Study Permits and Visa applications
- Domestic Students (Including Permanent Residents):
- Must provide all required admission documents at least two months prior to the start of the term they are applying for (Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall) in order to allow sufficient time for processing your application.
