Get a ONEcard
New students for Fall 2024
- Register in at least one class
- Upload your photo and wait for a photo approval email with a pickup date.
- Pick up your ONEcard at Riverside Lounge in HUB. You must present a government-issued photo ID and your U of A ID number.
Students moving into residence
In residence, ONEcard is used for accessing buildings, dining halls (if you're on a meal plan), laundry facilities and fitness facilities.
If you have had a ONEcard before and need a replacement
Visit the ONEcard office in HUB or SUB to get a replacement
If you have never had a ONEcard before
- Upload your photo by August 17 for it to be ready for pickup on Move In Day. If you miss this date, you will receive an email with a pickup date from the ONEcard office.
- Pick up your ONEcard at the following locations (please bring original government-issued ID and your seven-digit university ID number).
- David Tuckey Gym in Lister during Move In Day on August 26
- Riverside Lounge in HUB on select dates between August 22 to September 5 (view FAQs).
- ONEcard office in HUB during regular office hours starting September 6.
If you are moving into Résidence Saint Jean
You will be provided a temporary access card during Move In Day. This allows you the flexibility to pick up your ONEcard from North Campus on a more convenient date.
Returning student
- Register in at least one class
- Upload your photo and wait for a photo approval email with a pickup date.
- Pick up your ONEcard at the ONEcard office in HUB. You must present a government-issued photo ID and your U of A ID number.
Employee
- Upload your photo and wait for a photo approval email with a pickup date. You may have your photo taken in our office instead if you prefer.
- Pick up your ONEcard. You must present a government-issued photo ID.
Not all staff are eligible for a ONEcard. If you are unsure of your eligibility, contact us.
Alumni
Just as the ONEcard welcomed you to your higher education journey as a U of A student, the new ALUMNICard welcomes you to your alumni journey! As of June 2024 this card will be part of your convocation package, or mailed out to you with your parchment.
Prior degree recipients who are looking to obtain a ALUMNIcard, can do so at the ONEcard Office.
Convocated on or before 1982? Please contact us before visiting to confirm your degree.
Continuing education student
Students who are currently registered in a diploma or certificate program through the Faculty of Extension may obtain a ONEcard at a cost of $15.
Access to services, such as Campus & Community Recreation and Libraries, must be purchased separately.
Guest or contractor
Guests and contractors with the university may obtain a ONEcard in person for a $15 fee after they have been assigned a 7-digit university ID number and CCID. Access to buildings or services may be administered by the individual's department after card issuance.

Cash ONEcard
A Cash ONEcard is (not an identification) can be purchased and loaded with funds to make transitions at vending locations on campus that accept ONEcard cash. Please contact us to learn more.
REPLACE YOUR ONECARD
- If you have lost your card, log in and deactivate your ONEcard in the Account section or contact us.
- Upload your photo and wait for a photo approval email with a pickup date.
- Pick up your ONEcard for a $15 fee. You must present a government-issued photo ID.
Is your ONEcard nearing or past its expiration date? Fear not as your ONEcard never expires. However, get a new one when you can to update your photo and receive any latest card technology. There is no fee to replace these ONEcards.
