Alyssa-Lynne Perry's Bio

Alyssa-Lynne Perry is a proud Metis woman (she/her) from Ponoka in Metis District 3 of the Battle River Territory on Treaty 6 Territory. Her ancestry takes her through Saskatchewan and back to Red River.

Alyssa-Lynne has a background in education and holds a B.Ed in Elementary Education, and had the privilege to teach Grade 3 for the majority of her time in the school system. She was also a part of the First Nations, Metis and Inuit team within her school division that brought Indigenous perspectives and ways of knowing to students K-12, as well as facilitating this learning for her colleagues.

Alyssa-Lynne is very passionate about education in all forms, which is why moving into the Education Coordinator role is a perfect fit! She strongly believes that education is an important avenue in ensuring anti-racist and culturally safe environments for Indigenous patients and healthcare professionals alike and knows this is crucial in moving forward towards reconciliation.

During her free time, Alyssa-Lynne loves to go camping, complete jigsaw puzzles, play board games, go horseback riding and play golf. When she is not enjoying one of these activities she is probably at home cooking, watching Netflix and cuddling on the couch with her bichon shih tzu Pippa.
