On their first day of law school, students of the Class of 2026 engaged in a thought-provoking orientation that not only equipped them with essential knowledge but also ignited a sense of purpose for the road ahead.
The Faculty welcomed 183 new first-year law students on September 5. The day provided them with valuable insights, resources and opportunities to connect with their peers, faculty and members of the legal community.
Chief Justice Ritu Khullar provided the keynote address and brought greetings from the courts.
Other orientation speakers included Bill Hendsbee, KC, president of the Law Society of Alberta, Mosom Rick Lightning, Dean Barbara Billinglsey, Vice Dean James Muir, student wellness coordinator Michael Rajan, and Olive Bensler, president of the Law Students’ Association.
In addition to JD students, the Faculty also welcomed 18 students to the Internationally Trained Lawyer Pathway.
