The BMUFA accepts materials from outside sources, and also promotes the recording of contemporary events, accessioning materials generated from these projects. The BMUFA collects materials from around the world, but with a concentration on Ukrainian culture in Canada and other Ukrainian diaspora communities
The BMUFA's archival database, available at https://archives.ukrfolk.ca/, is continuously and regularly updated and provides access to its numerous and diverse collections.
The BMUFA also boasts an extensive research library and a collection of artifacts and textiles which are used for teaching, research, and community outreach projects.
