Golden Bears and Pandas Athletics and the Faculty of Physical Education and Recreation are hosting the inauguralSport Conference, May 31st to June 4th. Taking place in the Van Vliet Complex at the University of Alberta, the Sport Conference connects coaches, athletes, parents, sport administrators and general public with experts, researchers and professors from nearly every faculty of the University of Alberta. Conference attendees will have a number of opportunities to listen to and interact with UAlberta academics, coaches and graduate students as they explore a broad range of sports topics such as:athlete health,sport performance,developing young athletes andcoaching fundamentals.
The Sport Conference kicks off on Wednesday, May 31st at 7:30 pm with afree evening social event, which includes a keynote presentation-"Coaching: When it IS Life or Death"- fromDr. Chris de Gara, professor of surgery and general surgeon at the University of Alberta Hospital. This evening social event is open to the entire UAlberta faculty and student community, as well as the general public. Complimentary food and beverages will be served.
