In the digital age when it's all about conversations and connections and, let's face it, people expecting information at warp speed, print just isn't fast enough - and it's costly. So we've taken a different route in connecting with our alumni.
Here's why we did this: earlier this year, we had to axe the alumni magazine, Active Alumni, in print format owing to budget cuts, but you can't just stop communicating with alumni you've been friends with forever and want to stay that way, or entice young alumni to stay in touch.
So the idea of a fully interactive website came into being.
And perhaps this is a better choice anyway as the website is open 24/7/365, available to alumni at a click anywhere in the world, and we get to tell way, way more stories. In fact, we'll be publishing a fresh story every two weeks. In a year, that'll be 26 stories as opposed to 12 at most in the print magazine, and there's a cool donor recognition wall, class notes, and back issues of Active Alumni and yes, even Katimavik, which for so many years was the faculty newsletter, later morphing into the alumni newsletter.
So, with that I invite to visit the new Active Alumni website, fresh out the box yesterday, cruise around, check it out, share with friends.
