The Office of Research within the College of Health Sciences is established in consultation with the Vice President (Research and Innovation) and in coordination with the Research Partner Network and faculties within the College.
The Office of Research aims to foster interdisciplinary health research and supports shared infrastructure, improve grant success, and support all investigators, including increasing opportunities/resources to ECRs.

LEADERSHIP
Associate Dean, Research
Lawrence Richer, MD, MSc (Clinical Epidemiology), is a professor in the Department of Pediatrics, University of Alberta and a practicing pediatric neurologist. He also serves as the Center Director of the Northern Alberta Clinical Trials and Research Center (NACTRC). In his leadership roles, he is committed to advancing support for impactful interdisciplinary health research, clinical trials, and leveraging health data to improve patient outcomes. His research focus is on developing a better understanding of the mechanisms and management of the myriad of conditions that cause orthostatic intolerance and fatigue, such as Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, concussion, long COVID, and chronic migraine.
