Bio: Esra is currently pursuing her PhD degree in Women & Gender Studies Institute at the
University of Toronto. Before moving to Toronto, she completed her master’s degree in Gender
and Social Justice Studies program at University of Alberta and a bachelor’s degree in
English at Bogazici University, Istanbul. Esra is interested in body politics, Foucauldian analysis,
aesthetics of space and power, sexual violence, and, violence against women.
