Gender and Social Justice Studies M.A. student Danika Jorgensen-Skakum was awarded the prestigious 2017 Bente Roed Graduate Student of the Year Award by the Academic Women's Association of the University of Alberta. Dani received her award after giving a short presentation on her research at a reception that was held at the Faculty Club on October 12. This award recognized Dani's outstanding achievements as a scholar and in the advancement of women and equity-seeking minorities through her research and community outreach work.
