Feminist Roundtable Discussion of Jian Ghomeshi Trial and Verdict
On the morning of Thursday, March 24th, Justice William B. Horkins of the Ontario Court of Justice found former CBC broadcaster Jian Ghomeshi not guilty of four counts of sexual assault and one count of overcoming resistance by choking.
The Department of Women's and Gender Studies invites you to join us this evening for a roundtable discussion of this much mediatized trial. The panel will feature three feminist experts in sexual assault law and public education:
- Professor Lise Gotell (Acting Dean of Arts and Professor of Women's and Gender Studies, University of Alberta)
- Professor Jennifer Koshan (Member of the Alberta Bar and Professor of Law, University of Calgary)
- Nikki Bernier (Director of Community Engagement and Public Educator, Sexual Assault Centre of Edmonton)
