Save the Date! Ask SET Anything: Research Administration Edition
Do you work in research administration at the U of A? Do you want to learn more about the research administration transition plan and how it might impact you? Join us for another edition of our Ask SET Anything series featuring members from the SET team on Friday April 23, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Stay tuned for more details to be released next week!
Prepare phase update
The SET team is in full swing carrying out the functional reviews and redesigns for the functional workstreams. As we continue further down the path of transitioning into the new administrative operating model, we want to outline the processes and milestones for the second phase of the functional review: the prepare phase. Explore the purpose of this phase, learn how staff are being consulted, and get a glimpse into process redesign.
New VP websites launch
Restructuring the VP offices gives the university an opportunity to rethink how we present and organize website information about the services provided by each portfolio. Thanks to the efforts of many people, each of the VP websites have been updated to reflect new structures and make it easier to find services and resources.
You’ll notice changes on these sites:
- University Services and Finance
- Facilities and Operations
- Research and Innovation
- Provost and Vice-President Academic
- Information Services and Technology
New websites have been built for:
- Human Resources, Health, Safety and Environment
- Finance, Procurement and Planning
- Protective Services
- Dean of Students
Finance stream update
As the finance stream continues to work towards transitioning to the new operating model, the Director, Finance Partnerships position has now been filled, and more partner positions are currently accepting applications.
Procurement car rental update
The Procurement team renegotiated our agreement with the university's preferred vehicle rental supplier, securing reduced rental and insurance rates. We have an opportunity to save at least $30,000 per year, but only with the help of faculty and staff.
