New administrative home for Glen Sather Sports Medicine Clinic

26 November 2020

On November 5, changes to the organizational structure of the University of Alberta’s central vice-presidential portfolios were announced. These changes were the first step in the implementation of the university’s new operating model. Over the next several months, there will continue to be changes and shifts as the U of A transitions to the new model.

Today, we announce that the Glen Sather Sports Medicine Clinic will move from the Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine to Campus Services department in Facilities and Operations effective April 1, 2021.

The U of A is proud of the pioneering work of the Glen Sather Sports Medicine Clinic and this change will not impact the mandate of the clinic. This change is a transfer of administrative responsibility only; however, joining Campus Services will create new opportunities for the clinic to collaborate with other operational and service teams, and to share ideas and resources.

As we move through the transfer of authority, there will be no interruption of service to clinic patients. The Glen Sather Clinic will continue to be located in the Kaye Clinic and will continue to provide all of its services, in the care and rehabilitation for musculoskeletal, sport and exercise-related injuries.

At this time, the Glen Sather remains open for in-person and tele-rehab visits as per the recent COVID-19 provincial restrictions. Visit the COVID-19 Clinic Updates page for more info.
