Student Services
Students at St. Stephen’s College can access a wide range of student services, including many academic support services and several health and wellness services. These services are offered by both St. Stephen’s College and the University of Alberta. Presence in Edmonton is not required to access these services, as most are offered through both in-person and remote delivery.
What UAlberta Services Can I Access?
St. Stephen’s College students have full access to the Academic Support Services and the Health and Wellness Services offered by the University of Alberta. These include the following:
Academic Support Services are offered through the Academic Success Centre, which includes accommodations assessments and supports, various academic writing supports, one-on-one appointments, workshops to hone academic skills, and other services. Other academic supports include the Green and Gold grant program, the university’s Career Centre, and Student Conduct and Accountability.
Health and Wellness Services, including Counselling Services, the University Health Centre, Wellness Services, First Peoples House, the Sexual Assault Centre, Substance Awareness and Recovery supports, Ombuds Services, and others.
What St. Stephen’s Services Can I Access?
St. Stephen’s students can access to a wide range of wellness, academic, and administrative services offered by the College, including:
Spiritual Wellness Services are offered by the College’s Community Chaplain and Director of Spiritual Wellness. Services include the online Life Together gatherings for spiritual reflection and personal formation, the provision of spiritual and moral guidance (as requested), and the provision of spiritual care to members of the St. Stephen’s community.
Academic and Vocational Advising is handled by the core faculty together with department administrators. Services include development and review of each student’s academic plan, consultation on academic progress, applications for program extension, coordination of final written/research projects, and other supports related to program completion. Faculty and staff also advise students relative to practicum and clinical placement sites, and college staff support alumni applying for professional registration with credentialing bodies (e.g., CATA, CCPA, CASC/ACSS).
Administrative Services are offered by the Registrar’s Office, which includes course registrations and withdrawals, financial services (including assistance with student aid, student loans, and tax documentation), transfer credits assessment (with faculty review), support with CCIDs and eClass, assistance with learning accommodations, leaves of absence, graduation and convocation, and transcript requests.
How to Access Student Services
Students are required (in most instances) to use their CCID and/or ONEcard to access UAlberta student services. To obtain a ONEcard, please follow the instructions outlined on the UAlberta ONEcard webpage. Upon registration in a St. Stephen’s College program/course, the St. Stephen’s Registrar’s Office will issue each student a UAlberta CCID. (Note: CCIDs will be renewed annually by the SSC Registrar’s Office; password resets, if required, are also managed through the SSC Registrar's Office.)
