Fr. Jim Stenberg, CSB, has been a Basilian priest since 2001. Originally from Red Deer, Fr. Jim's relationship with SJC goes back to when he was an Honours Math student at the U of A and lived in the SJC Residence. After stints teaching or studying in Toronto, Albuquerque, New Mexico and Tehuacan, Mexico, Fr. Jim was Director of Residence for the College from 2000 to 2003; it was during this time that he was ordained a priest.
Interestingly, the President of SJC, Fr. Terry Kersch, was a deacon at Fr. Jim's ordination; in addition, his predecessor as SJC Chaplain, Fr. Glenn MacDonald, was a student in Residence when Fr. Jim was the Director. Fr. Jim comes to SJC from Windsor, Ontario, where he was the Associate Pastor of Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Parish. Before that he was the Associate Pastor and then Parish Administrator at Holy Rosary Church in Toronto. He has two Master's degrees, one in Philosophy and one in Divinity.
