The Department of Sociology is pleased to host a book launch on Thursday, 12 March 2009 from 4:30pm-5:30pm at Steeps Urban Tea House (10 minute walk from campus - 11116 82 (Whyte) Avenue). Zohreh Bayatrizi (Life Sentences: The Modern Ordering of Mortality) and Dominique Clément (Canada's Rights Revolution: Social Movements and Social Change, 1937-82) will be presenting their recent books. There will be a brief presentation by each author and an opportunity to ask questions. The event will take 45-60 minutes. The location is close to campus and has games/toys for children. The University of Alberta bookstore has a few copies of each book (unfortunately we can not sell copies at the location).
