Operational Stress Injury Program
Located in Northgate Shopping Mall, the Operational Stress Injury (OSI) Clinic provides mental health services for operational stress injuries (depression, anxiety, PTSD, substance use /addiction problems) related to services in the Canadian Armed Forces or RCMP. Supports are also provided to client families. The OSI clinic covers the northern half of Alberta as well as the Northwest Territories and provides services either at the clinic or via Telehealth for clients who may be limited in their ability to travel. Standardized rating scales are incorporated into all assessments for patients seen at OSI Clinic and comprehensive reports are prepared for the primary care provider and other agencies are necessary.
Specialized services offered include assessment and treatment with an interdisciplinary team comprised of
- Psychiatrists
- Psychologists
- Social workers (clinical specialization)
- Nurse & addiction counselor
The OSI clinic offers Psychiatry and Family Medicine Residents and medical students the opportunity to gain experience in trauma informed therapies and multidisciplinary team working. There is also the opportunity to participate in quality improvement projects and research.
