Japanese Language Speech Contests
The Prince Takamado Japan Centre for Teaching and Research provides organizational and administrative support for the annual Regional and National Japanese Speech Contests.
The purpose of the Japanese speech contests is to promote Japanese language education in Canada and to provide post-secondary students with an opportunity to showcase their skills in front of their peers.

Princess Takamado English Essay Contest
As part of the Prince Takamado Japan Canada Memorial Fund's initiatives to encourage student mobility and cultural exchange, an essay contest was established in honour of Her Imperial Highness Princess Takamado. The aim of the Contest was to encourage English language study and to facilitate a greater understanding and interest in Canada among Japanese university students.
