Replaying Japan is a one day symposium on Japanese game culture, game studies and the gaming industry that will bring together researchers from Japan and Canada to talk about the challenges and opportunities in cross-cultural study of game culture with a particular focus on university/industry interaction. The symposium will address issues like:
· What is the state of game studies in Japan and more generally Asia?
· How can academic game studies engage industry? What models are there for university/industry collaboration?
· How can cross-cultural and international collaboration contribute to the field of game studies?
