Under the mentorship and guidance of a licensed occupational therapist, occupational therapy students are able to put into practice the knowledge, skills and behaviours learned in the classroom. Students in the occupational therapy program participate in a minimum of 28 weeks of clinical education experiences in a wide range of practice settings and content areas including (but not limited to) rehabilitation facilities, schools, private clinics, home care, long term care centres and acute care hospitals. All placements are arranged by the Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education (ACCE) at facilities approved by the Department of Occupational Therapy.
