The Faculty of Nursing appreciates the contributions of our donors which support our commitment to student education and research that improves healthcare for all Albertans and across the globe. Moving into the second century of nursing education at the faculty, we remain vigilant on embracing the mission, vision, and core values of the University and are dedicated to preparing nursing leaders for the public good.
At the 2018 University of Alberta spring convocation, we will bestow an honorary doctorate on Louise Bradley who has dedicated her professional life to improving the mental health of Canadians. In her current role as President and CEO of the Mental Health Commission of Canada, Ms. Bradley championed the development of Canada's first Mental Health Strategy, undertook the signature Opening Minds anti-stigma initiative, and created a globally recognized Knowledge Exchange Centre. By recognizing the important work of nurses like Louise Bradley to improve the health of Canadians, we can elevate our role in preparing the next generation of nurses.
