R. Field 

Richard Field, PhD

Director

Richard Field was appointed director of the Peter Lougheed Leadership College (PLLC) on November 1, 2023, and will hold this position for three years. He previously served as interim director for a one-year term that began on July 1, 2021. He received his PhD from the University of Toronto in Leadership and Organizational Behaviour, MBA from McMaster University, and Bachelor of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo. He has been a professor at the Alberta School of Business for over 30 years.

L. Wong

Leo Wong, PhD

PLLC INT D 407 Capstone Course Professor

Leo Wong is the Associate Dean, Education, for the Alberta School of Business and
Academic Lead for the Peter Lougheed Leadership College. In the Fall of 2024, he
taught the capstone course – INT D 407. In this course, students engage with one
another in project-directed groups, using the leadership skills, theory, and research
they have enacted and participated in during their leadership education journey. Real-
world problems are presented, analyzed, and addressed head-on, offering real-world
experiences to motivate students to continue their leadership journeys beyond their
time at the university.

 

E. DeJong

Erik DeJong, PhD

Course Coordinator

With a doctorate in educational psychology and a specialty in technology in education,
deJong uses psychological principles to engage students through applied technology.
Erik joined the team in late 2021 as Project Coordinator when the PLLC was reimagining
its offerings to students; this resulted in the Inspired to Lead series of courses. Now,
Erik is responsible for ensuring the instructional team and the PLLC director have
the support they need as the PLLC continues to expand its non-course offerings for
student leadership development. His role has expanded to that of a Course Coordinator
for the gateway course (INT D 101), where he can interact with teaching assistants and
students directly as they begin or continue enacting their leadership goals.

Kendra Woodall

Course Coordinator

Kendra Woodall received First-Class Honors in her BSc Honours program in
Immunology and Infection at the U of A as well as a Certificate in Biomedical Research.
She directly entered graduate studies and completed her MSc in Physiology, Cell and
Developmental Biology. During this time, she was a teaching assistant for INT D 207
and INT D 307 and continued her involvement after graduation. Kendra has thoroughly
enjoyed coordinating these courses, creating course content, and connecting with
students. She is grateful to be part of the PLLC and to contribute wherever possible,
from representing the college at student events to organizing guest lectures with
inspiring leaders.

R. Khan

Rehma Khan

Course Instructor

A second-year MSc in Public Health student with a certificate in Interdisciplinary
Leadership Studies from the U of A, Rehma is a course instructor for Inspired to
Dream: Becoming a Leader. She passionately advocates for health equity, community
engagement, and inclusive education. Rehma’s experiences navigating healthcare
challenges in a rural community have shaped her dedication to addressing barriers in
health and education for marginalized groups. Her leadership journey includes being
president of the Students Invested in Health Association, where she managed a diverse
team and fostered collaboration among international and local health projects.
