Undergraduate Medical Student Elective
Ethics teaching for 3rd and 4th year students from across Canada in 2-week sessions.

This flexible elective gives you an in-depth look at bioethics. This elective is normally comprised of a combination of readings/case discussions on a range of bioethics topics, and direct exposure to clinical ethics consultation in a healthcare setting. The topics explored during the elective can be tailored to the students’ specific needs and interests.
Elective Objectives: To provide experience of the discipline of bioethics within the healthcare context.
Postgraduate Resident Elective
Ethics teaching for residents and subspecialty residents from across Canada in 2-week sessions.

This elective is normally comprised of a combination of readings/case discussions on a range of bioethics topics, and direct exposure to clinical ethics consultation in a healthcare setting. The topics explored during the elective can be tailored to the residents’ specific needs and interests.
Elective Objectives: To provide experience of the discipline of bioethics within the healthcare context.
We also welcome requests for elective experiences in bioethics from individuals in other health sciences programs.
Elective experiences are subjective to availability of preceptors. We avoid scheduling overlapping ethics electives to support quality of bioethics elective experiences.
