We are very pleased to announce the following Awards and Recognitions for our students, faculty, and staff.
Katy Mackay has been selected for a 2015 Faculty of Arts Contract Instructor Teaching Award and nominated as an outstanding candidate for the William Hardy Alexander Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching in next year's competition. Katy is one of our outstanding teachers in our Classics program and it is very fitting that her talents have been recognized.
Lara Apps, PhD candidate in History in the department, has been selected for a 2015 Faculty of Arts Graduate Student Teaching Award. The Arts Undergraduate Teaching Awards Committee was unanimous in making this decision.
Sarah Nash, PhD student in Classical Archaeology, has been awarded the Franz and Neda Leipen Fellowship of the Canadian Institute in Greece for 2015-16, which allows her to spend a year studying in Athens.
Rosalind MacDonald, an undergraduate student in Classics (double major with Anthropology), has received a Stipend from the Undergraduate Research Initiative ($5,000).
Jessica McGinnis, our Undergraduate Advisor, has been chosen to receive a Faculty of Arts Outstanding Staff Award for 2014 for her passion and dedication to the department and faculty.
