How it Works

The University of Alberta receives more than $60,000 a year in gifts through corporate matching.

Step 1: Find Your Company

Step 2: Check the details of your program with your HR department and request a matching gift form

Step 3: Send your donation with your completed form to:

Step 4: Please allow some time for your organization and U of A to confirm the gift.

Step 5: Charitable tax receipts will be issued for the eligible amount. Business receipts will be issued for all corporate donations.

Lee Close, '85 BCom, at the office of Ernst & Young

The accounting career of Ottawa resident Lee Close, '85 BCom, has taken many paths: auditing, management consulting, insolvency work and travel to many parts of Canada. The one thing that hasn't changed is her employer, the "Big Four" accounting firm Ernst & Young, an organization she admires for its stability and integrity.

When Ernst & Young started to match employee donations to post-secondary institutions, Close decided to significantly increase her giving to the University of Alberta.

She says corporate matching programs are an ideal way to expand your impact as a donor and feel closer to your employer.
