Terrestrial Mesocosm Facility
The Mesocosm Research Facility is jointly managed by the University of Alberta and Alberta InnoTech. Developed with funding from the Helmholtz-Alberta Initiative (HAI) and Alberta InnoTech in 2015, this innovative facility is located in Vegreville, Alberta, approximately an hour east of Edmonton. The facility consists of 16 fully instrumented outdoor mesocosms which allow researchers to conduct experiments which bridge the gap between the laboratory and operational scenarios. Researchers are welcome to submit a request to use the facility for their research.
