BFA Production: Stage Management

You will learn

Apprenticeship (First) Year

Theory: stage management fundamentals, English language studies

Theory and Practice: technical theatre fundamentals (e.g. stagecraft, health and safety, lighting and sound technology, costume construction), design fundamentals (e.g. scenic art, drafting, illustration and model making)

Supporting (Second) Year

Theory: professional stage management (theatre, opera and dance), music fundamentals, fashion and architectural history

Theory and Practice: acting, design (set, costumes and lighting), advanced lighting and sound technology, stage management and running crew show assignments, independent research project

Supervisory (Third) Year

Theory: advanced stage management, production management, directing, modern theatre history, fashion and architectural history 

Practice: multiple stage management show assignments

Leadership (Fourth) Year

Theory: advanced stage management, Canadian and world theatre histories

Practice: multiple stage management show assignments, independent research project
