Studio Theatre

The University of Alberta's very own theatre company.

Studio Theatre in The Timms Centre for the Arts is Drama's laboratory and the Studio Season is simultaneously a site for research, teaching, entertainment, and innovation. Each season brings together a rare combination of artists interacting to create unique live theatre experiences.

Studio Theatre features the graduating BFA Acting class ensemble in the shows over the year. These productions represent the culmination of their training. Students from the technical and stage management programs work on all of the plays, taking advantage of the exceptional teaching opportunities the season provides.

Studio Theatre is also a developing ground for the Department's MFA students and serves to introduce them to the larger Edmonton community. For Drama's talented faculty, the season offers rich research opportunities. The department also engages significant theatre artists from across the country to teach and direct our students. This unique mix of professionals, faculty, and students are part of what makes every Studio Theatre season special.

All performances take place at The Timms Centre for the Arts (112 Street & 87 Avenue) one of the most comfortable, intimate theatres in Edmonton.
