Join Distinguished Visiting Professor Dr. Aneta Głowacka for a Thursday Lunch-time talk about the leading playwrights, directors and designers of the contemporary stage in Poland.
A reception with light fare will follow the presentation.

Aneta Głowacka is Assistant Professor and researcher at the Institute of Culture Studies of the University of Silesia in Katowice, cultural and theatre researcher and theatre critic. Her research interests focus on aesthetic transformations in 20th and 21st century theatre and drama, the institutional foundations of theatre activity, the relationship between theatre and politics, and the theatre's relationship with local and Indigenous cultures. Author of numerous articles and collective publications on this topic. She is a member of the 'Trans-Indigena' research team. Since 2022 she has been in charge of the NCN project: ‘Democratization processes in institutional theatres in Poland. Procedures, mechanisms and power relations'.

Dr. Aneta Głowacka is visiting the University of Alberta for the month of September as the guest of the Department of Drama, the Wirth Institute for Austrian and Central European Studies, and the Faculty of Arts.
