Supply Chain Canada (SCC) is a nationwide association that has existed for more than 104 years. SCC is the principal source of supply chain training, education, and professional development. Through 10 Provincial and Territorial Institutes, Supply Chain Canada grants the Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation, the highest achievement in the field and the mark of strategic leadership.
Supply Chain Management Professional
The Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation is a recognized credential that signifies expertise in supply chain management. It is offered by professional organizations, most notably in Canada by Supply Chain Canada (formerly known as the Supply Chain Management Association or SCMA). The designation represents a high standard of excellence and professionalism in the field of supply chain management and is considered one of the most prestigious credentials for supply chain professionals.
The Supply Management Training (SMT) Program of the University of Alberta meets the global demand for skilled practitioners to support the management of complex supply chains. By providing tactical courses and seminars, early- to mid-career professionals develop a solid skills base to support supply chain functions and cultivate related business skills. With additional classes from Supply Chain Canada, this program will help you towards the Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation.
Important notes
- This program is comprised of ten core courses. Course range from 14-39 hours in length, for a total of approximately 300 hours
- Complete all 10 courses from the Supply Management Training (SMT) program to be eligible to receive your Diploma in Supply Management granted by Supply Chain Canada (SCC).
- Once you complete all courses, apply directly to SCC for the diploma.
- If you have a BA or five years of experience in Supply Chain Management, you can apply for Advanced Standing to see if you are eligible to take the Supply Chain Management Professional Designation. Here is a link to the application. Contact Supply Chain Canada for more information.
