Osmar Zaïane awarded IEEE Senior member grade

Osmar Zaïane, professor with the Department of Computing Science, is elevated to the grade of IEEE Senior Member for his significant contributions to the profession. His research interests include data analytics, namely novel data mining algorithms, web mining, text mining, image mining, social network analysis, data visualization, and information retrieval with applications in health informatics, e-Learning, and e-Business. Osmar Zaïane is elevated to the the grade of IEEE Senior Member. IEEE Senior Membership is an honor bestowed only to those who have made significant contributions to the profession. It is the highest grade for which application may be made and shall require experience reflecting professional maturity.

From the IEEE website: "For admission or transfer to the grade of Senior Member, a candidate shall be an engineer, scientist, educator, technical executive, or originator in IEEE-designated fields for a total of 10 years and have demonstrated 5 years of significant performance."
