Faculty Excellence

Naomi Rothenberg has been promoted to full professor and tenure has been awarded to Noah Castelo and Borzou Rostami. Congratulations on these well-deserved recognitions. 

Student Success

The Alberta School of Business and CPHR Alberta co hosted this year’s HRC West case competition. Twenty post-secondary schools from across Alberta and BC competed. Congratulations to Siddharth Pathak, Ainsley Plitt, Gwen Lizardo and Miguel Deanon for representing the ASB and professor Rick Brick for coaching our team.

Alberta School of Business took first place at the Haskayne School of Business Digital Case Competition! Congratulations to Tran Nguyen, Harim Ahmed, Mariia Valiieva and Pranjal Mandal for advancing to the semi-finals and securing the top spot. Big thanks to coach Jim Seethram for his support.

Many thanks to students Maddie Spelliscy, Maya Bezubiak, Ben Sherback, and Hunter Miller for representing the Alberta School of Business at the prestigious John Molson Undergraduate Case Competition - JMUCC in Montreal.

Congratulations to Austin Kaduk, Nicole Page and Kaylee W. for placing first at the KPMG x U of A Indigenous Business Students Association's second annual case competition!

Congratulations to Allan Solomon, Hunter Miller, Maya Bezubiak and Victoria Aird from the Alberta School of Business for winning the CPA Education Foundation Business Challenge. Congratulations to Nadia Grant from the Alberta School of Business for receiving the 2024-2025 JLL Women in Real Estate Award! This award recognizes outstanding female students in commercial real estate for their academic excellence, leadership and community involvement.

Congratulations to Marlow Pfeifer for being selected to represent the School in the 2024/25 Canada’s Outstanding CEO of the Year® Futures Fund Scholarship Program! This prestigious national program recognizes top business students from across the country. Well done, Marlow!

Alberta School of Business took first place at the National JR Shaw School of Business (NAIT) Winter City Case Competition! Congratulations to Jeffrey Fudolig, Damon Whitford, Kunal Maru,and Jason Zhuang for their outstanding performance. Big thanks to coach Daniel A. H. Juárez for his invaluable mentorship

Students Ragghav Bathla, Rudrah Sharma, Ellen Tam, Ishan Arora, Kinza Mawji, and Mason D'Souza placed 3rd at the VCIC (Venture Capital Investment Competition) 2025 in Halifax with the help of their coaches Peter Keith and Tony Briggs. Congratulations!

Big thanks to Hunter Miller, Maddie Spelliscy, and Abimbola Agunbiade for representing the Alberta School of Business at JDC West 2025. Their team placed first overall in the business strategy discipline against 12 other schools across Western Canada!

Alberta School of Business took first place in the marketing discipline at JDC West 2025! Congratulations to Tyler Bichage, Camryn Jackson and Arabella Vuong for their incredible teamwork, creativity and dedication. Big thanks to coaches Francine W., Kevin Zentner, Utku Akkoc and Conor Pilz for their invaluable mentorship and support!

Alberta School of Business placed fourth at the McGill Business Ethics Case Competition hosted by Desautels Faculty of Management! Congratulations to Jingyao Cheng, Owen Pasay, Victor Vysotski and Marlow Pfeifer for representing the school among 16 top universities across North America. Big thanks to coach Rick Brick for his guidance and support!

Alberta School of Business finished as runners-up at the NHH International Case Competition 2024 in Bergen, Norway! Congratulations to Marlow Pfeifer, Ishan Arora, Omer Syed, and Lavansh Sethi for representing the school on the international stage and presenting in the final round to a distinguished panel of judges.
