FACULTY EXCELLENCE

Michael Lounsbury was awarded the 2022 Outstanding Scholar Award from the Western Acadamy of Management (WAM) and Journal of Management Inquiry. This award recognizes colleagues who have distinguished themselves over the course of their careers, have a reputation for mentoring successful researchers, and have personal qualities that enhance the WAM culture. Well done! 

Congratulations to David Cooper who received the 2022 Anthony G. Hopwood Award for Academic Leadership. The Award is intended to recognize academic excellence, academic leadership, and contribution to the European Accounting Association.

Congratulations to Harsh Singh, Ometz Elijah, Xiaojie Lan and Craig McGimpsey who won the Winter Internal Case Competition hosted by the MBA Association!

Congratulations to Shreya Kakkar, Pedro Duque, Kashika Walla and Subrat Sharma for winning the 2022 Schulich Global Case Competition! 

Our students also came in first place in the CPA Education Foundation Business Challenge case competition for the third year in a row. Well done! 

Tracy Olmos won the 2021 JLL Women in Real Estate Award! The award celebrates female students in commercial real estate who are pursuing a career in the industry. Well done. 

Congratulations to Ishan Arora for being recognized by the University of Alberta Residence Services with the Leadership in Residence Programming Award!

Congratulations to the Enactus UAB team who placed in three separate challenges at Enactus Regionals including the National Winner for the Scotiabank Climate Action Pitch for their project GlassLoop. 

The University of Alberta undergraduate team placed in the top three in Canada at the annual Venture Capital Case Competition. Well done!
