Department of Anthropology staff members were saddened to learn that Elder Pete Waskahat of Frog Lake First Nation passed away Monday, August 30. Pete provided important help and much needed guidance for our archaeological field school activities. We were honoured that he could provide his blessing and words of wisdom for the opening of the Institute of Prairie Archaeology in March of 2010. We offer our condolences to Pete's family; he will be greatly missed in Alberta, and across Canada.
