Augustana Representative
Stephanie is a proud double alumna of the University of Alberta, having graduated from both the University of Alberta School of Public Health (Master of Public Health - Epidemiology, '17) and Augustana (BSc Biology '14). She is incredibly grateful for her time at these two faculties, and attributes much of her success and her way of thinking about the world to her early liberal arts education.
She currently works as an epidemiologist for the Public Health Agency of Canada, although has had a varied career that includes law enforcement research and evaluation, vaccine epidemiology, public policy and programming related to Alberta's opioid crisis, and public health workforce capacity building.
Outside of work, Stephanie is passionate about advancing social change in the areas of equity, diversity, and inclusion. She is heavily involved in advocacy work that focuses on the health and wellness of the LGBTQ2S+ community and has been a part of a number of local and provincial LGBTQ2S+ organizations; she has lectured on LGBTQ2S+ health for healthcare students and professionals across a variety of faculties, conferences, and organizations.
