Heart & Stroke Foundation Grants-in-Aid Application Support

The Heart & Stroke Foundation (HSF) provides excellent funding opportunities each year for cardiovascular researchers.

Specifically, the Grants-in-Aid (GIA) program provides operating funds to individual researchers with a very broad mandate of supporting "important, pertinent, novel research in the areas of heart disease and/or stroke" and promoting "research discovery, exploration and innovation across all health research themes".

NEW for this year:

Postdoctoral Fellowship Awards have been added to the roster of personnel awards.
 Application deadline: 4:00 PM ET September 5, 2024

GIA Program funding increased to a maximum of 4 years ($400, 000).
Application deadline:  16:00 ET August 29, 2024 

PLEASE NOTE: The institutional deadline for the H&S GIA application is 5 business days prior to the sponsor deadline. That means the Research Administrative Services (RAS) will need to receive your application through the Researcher Home Page by Aug 22, 4pm MT. Your budget and team members cannot be changed after this institutional deadline.
 

The timing is tight, but the opportunity worthwhile. The University would like to support the cardiovascular research community to help increase the number of applications being submitted and odds of success.

All cardiovascular researchers are encouraged to explore the Heart & Stroke GIA opportunity and to use these documents to assist in their efforts.

Research Partner Network (RPN)

The Research Partner Network (RPNet) is part of the Office of the Vice-President (Research and Innovation) and provides essential hands-on support to enhance the research application and grant management success. The RPNet is the primary point of contact for researchers for both pre- and post-award activities. The ultimate goal of the RPNet is to enable application success and reduce administrative load for our researchers.
