What three words best describe your U of A experience?

Growth, Transformative, Enlightening

Why did you decide to study your major?

Understanding the way data and technology can be used to solve modern day problems will define the future regardless of our field of choice. The fusion of my interests and flexibility of working in numerous different industries played a great role in choosing Management Information Systems as my major. I hope to pursue risk and technology consulting once I graduate.

What advice would you give to your first year self?

It is important to get out of your comfort zone, meet new people, get involved on campus and travel as much as you can. Don't be afraid to make your voice heard, take rejection as redirection, work hard and great things will follow. Life goes on so don't stress on things you won't remember in a week.

You can invite anyone - alive or dead, real or fictional - to dinner. Who would it be?

Muhammad Ali, he was someone who was exactly who he said he was.

What is your favourite way to unwind after a long day?

Definitely sleeping.

What do you miss most about campus/in-person classes?

My eyesight isn't the strongest so I miss everything about in-person classes: from physically being in classes, meeting new people, running into friends all around campus, and pulling all nighters in Cameron.

What are you most proud of?

I'm most proud of promoting art and performing arts during my time in high school, organizing some of the city's best concerts. I'm also particularly proud of the fact that as the Chief Returning Officer at the Students' Union, I've encouraged so many people to get involved with student governance and make their voice heard. I'm looking forward to hosting the election workshops in collaboration with STRIDE and the Office of the SU's President. I hope to leave behind a legacy which would ensure that students at the UofA are represented by great leaders.

What's one thing you can't live without?

I have been taking pictures ever since I remember, so that would be my camera. Not only is it a great way to destress, but photography for me is about expanding my horizons and expressing myself creatively. The yearly trip to northern Pakistan in the summer is what I look forward to the most.

What is your go-to study snack?

Iced Capp with a shot of espresso and Ben & Jerry's half baked ice-cream, that's way too much sugar but it is what it is.

Who inspires you?

I have many inspirations, firstly, Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) who said "a white has no superiority over black nor a black has any superiority over white except by piety and good action." 1388 years go.

My late grandfather was a visionary and the most beautiful person I have known. He is remembered as 'the Father of Pharmacy' in Pakistan and it is because of him that I decided to study abroad.
