The Department of Women's and Gender Studies at the University of Alberta invites applications from qualified instructors for the following courses scheduled for the Winter 2019, Spring 2019, and Summer 2019 semesters.

Winter 2019 (7 Jan - 10 Apr 2019)

WGS 220 Feminism and Popular Culture, Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:30 - 10:50

WGS 332 Contemporary Feminist Theory, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays 11:00-11:50

Spring 2019 (6 May - 12 Jun 2019)

WGS 298 Critical Issues, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 18:00-20:50

WGS 360 Race, Class, and Gender, Mondays and Wednesdays 15:00-17:50

WGS 470 Sexualities, Tuesdays and Thursdays 10:00-12:50

Summer 2019 (8 Jul - 14 Aug 2019)

Note that WGS 298 and WGS 470 are variable topics courses. Past topics for WGS 298 include: Breasts; Consent; Race and Gender in Comics; Mothers/Others; Feminist Perspectives in Sport and Recreation. Past topics for WGS 470 include: Sex On-line; Queer Erotics; Queer Feminisms. Applicants with an interest in WGS 298 or WGS 470 should include proposals that include details about the topics to be covered.

A Ph.D. in Women's and Gender studies or a related field, at or near completion, is required. Applicants should demonstrate excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level. Experienceteaching in the field of Women's and Gender Studies is an asset, though all qualified applicants will be considered. Interested applicants should upload a cover letter, CV, and representativeteaching evaluations. For instructors who have taught in Women's and Gender Studies in the last three years, only a cover letter and current CV is requested.
